Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Exam Pattern & Preparation Books List

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized test for admission in well-known National Law Universities in India for under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M.). The first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008. Now there are 14 participating NLUs taking Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which was conducted by the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2014.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) consists of objective type of questions that coves English, general knowledge, basic mathematics, besides legal and logical reasoning. This test is of two-hour duration time.

Eligibility

Only Indian nationals and NRIs can appear in the test. The foreign candidates who are eager of taking admission to any course in any of the participating Law Universities may directly contact the concerned University for foreign vacant seats.

For each wrong answer candidate will lose one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question or say it will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
